Hi all. Bit of a newbie to the excel world, most work ive done has literally just been going through googling and piecing bits together, so my knowledge and understanding may not be all there so bare with me :)

A friend of mine does D and D roleplay and I said id try and make him a spreadsheet that can work out hero and enemy encounters. Basically, I have a sheet with heroes names, current health and max health. A sheet with enemy name, current health and max health. This data on each sheet is in table format.

On a main sheet, it displays a current battle between certain heroes and enemies. (these are chosen through drop down lists which in turn displays their health)

On this main sheet, in a separate section, I want to choose a hero from the same range of heroes from my heroes sheet, I want to choose an enemy that they are hitting, and then type in a value for how much damage has been done.

From this, I want the amount of damage to be taken off the enemy that was chosen (the table on the enemy sheet is where the data will be changed, which in turn will change the data on my main sheet).

I'm not sure if I am over complicating things here, but any help on how this can be done would be appreciated.

Thank you kindly

Nik
