I had a problem, I have been accessing my database for weeks... then the database I was trying to get in MyDocuments, gave me an error message that said It can't access the database WorkOrder.mdb.

The only resolution was to move it into Shared Documents. It has worked fine for 2 weeks... Now we can't access it.

What could be wrong???

It will access the other 3 databases in Shared Documents?????

Please any help is greatly appreciated,

Michael

are you an administrator of the network? because if not you may not have complete access to the file... this could be the reason its saying an invalid path..

Excel Facts

How to calculate loan payments in Excel?
Use the PMT function: =PMT(5%/12,60,-25000) is for a $25,000 loan, 5% annual interest, 60 month loan.
OK
I have 2 Folders on the Computer where the file is stored:
Folder 1 = Shared Documents
Folder 2 = SSDatabases

All I did was move the file from one folder to the other, and I can open the file with no problem.
What is going on????? Anytime it doesn't work, I'll just move the file... That seems dumb?

Any ideas what could be up?
Michael

ps. tails, It is open to all users though? I have 3 other files with the exact same settings, I can access them with no issues???

hmm, I'm not sure what could be wrong then, if moving the file allows access to it, but after a week or so it stops working. Maybe your HDD is dying or the battery is nearly dead... thats all i can think of.

I had a similar problem recently which seems to have resolved itself. Have you got fixed IP addresses or are you using DHCP? I think my system was changing the IP addresses and accordingly couldn't find the shared / previously used files.

I can't find anywhere the person that helped me with this, but, So far it is working.

They told me to go to Access.EXE the executable file... right click... then click properties... then goto compatibility... then pick Windows98.

So far this seems to have worked.

Thank You,

Michael
