Cannot find option to "disable hardware acceleration"

Hey everyone,

I recently fresh installed my OS and Excel. I have not been able to find the option that used to be in Options->Advanced->Display to turn off Hardware Acceleration. Anyone knows where I can find it or disable hardware acceleration for Excel or Office only (maybe in the registry?

It was even worse today, and I finally figured out the problem for me!

If you have this problem and are using Microsoft Garage's "Advanced Formula Environment" (Announcing LAMBDAs to Production and Advanced Formula Environment, A Microsoft Garage Project), try uninstalling that.

Conflicting info on the internet as to where in the registry to find/make the setting

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Graphics
Or
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\policies\microsoft\office\16.0\common\graphics

also conflicting info on the setting for DisableHardwareAcceleration I would think 1 for Disabled but conflicting info says zero.

Thank you! This worked for me. Ever since the update to Win11 my Excel and Word would flicker like crazy when scrolling through documents. I created a new DWORD (32-bit) value of DisableHardwareAcceleration with value of 1 at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Graphics and it solved the problem.
