Dear Participants,

Can anybody help me to know how change settings so that i can always start excel in safe mode ?

currently i am pressing and holding down "Ctrl" key to start in safe mode.

if you save your xlsm file as a binary xlsb that will generally reduce the file size, then use what Rory said about starting in safe mode from the desk top

or "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\excel.exe" /s "c:\my file.xlsb"

note there are different paths depending on software installs

never a great idea to put a file in the ROOT directory

Excel Facts

Create a chart in one keystroke
Select the data and press Alt+F1 to insert a default chart. You can change the default chart to any chart type
You don't need to change the file at all. Your shortcut needs to point to the excel application rather than a file. So the target would be something like:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\EXCEL.EXE" /s "C:\Testing\book1.xlsb"

for example.

Thanx the problem is now solved.

The shortcut now works after changing the target as per your advice
