Dear Experts,

I have buttons (macros) on top of my worksheets. The sheet might contain more than 1000 rows.

Now, what I want is that the buttons should remain constant on top (floating) horizontally and vertically even when the sheet is scrolled down or right etc.

An example would be Windows | Freeze Panes. But I need an alternative.

Any suggestions for the captioned would be appreciated.

Best Regards,

Ok, if you're going to use freeze panes then you don't need any of this code. You can go ahead and delete whatever you have.

Next, put your combobox up in (for example) row 1. Let's say the combobox itself is covering the cells A1 to B2.
Select cell C3 and use Window > Freeze panes. You will see a line shown at the top of row 3 and another one at the left edge of column C. Anything above and to the left of where these two lines intersect will not move when you scroll through your sheet.

(It doesn't matter which you do first, freeze the panes or put the combobox up where you want it, as long as you choose a cell below & to the right of where the lower right corner of the combobox will be before you freeze panes.)

Just out of curiosity, what version of Excel do you use?
The code above tested OK for me in Excel 2000 & 2003.

sorry... i was being an idiot. Of course the buttons still work with freeze panes... was thinking of the wrong thing..... So I guess its not that big of a deal if the code works, except people at this ofice tend to want to use the page layout view, in which case freeze panes wont work, and the code woudl have been brilliant...

Am using a mac and office 2004 in swedish. strange i know, (not my choice) but hasnt been that big of a problem before.... anyhoo... get an error message nr 5, highlighting the line with active sheet shapes.... Do i have to replace the "drop down 1" with the name of the combo box, which could be in swedish? In which case, how do i know what the **** thing i called, number wise...? (am i being dense again?)

I love the floating toolbar!
I have it working with one big exception.
I customize the toolbar to put my common macros etc and it works great then when I close the file and re-open it I lose my customization.
How do I get the changes to save so that I can get the same toolbar back when I go back into the file?

I tried recording a macro where I made the changes but it didnt record in customize view.

There is probably something simple I am missing here.
I want to put about 8 macros on the toolbar with each having its own icon.

Any help would be great.
Thanks
