Hi everyone,

I have a list of people's telephone numbers which I'm sending to a cellphone provider to process (about 200 numbers) but the cellphone provider has come back saying I need to add 011 to the front of each number for their system to process it.

What's the easiest way of doing this without having to manually add '011 to each cell?

Sarah

You don't need to use immediately adjacent cells - just use empty cells in the first available blank column and use the formula provided, then copy & pastespecial values over your originals.

I'd prefer to do it formatting the cells rather than adding data into other cells as the workbook is going back to the cellphone provider and I'm not supposed to add extra columns in.

You wouldn't be adding other columns in - you'd just temporarily be using the other column to generate the numbers in the right format before copying them over your originals.

If you genuinely want to just amend the format (and I can't believe you want to just change the display rather than the cell contents) then you can apply a custome format of:

"011"0;;;@

So I can delete the other column once I've copied the data across to the right column?
