Half full??

Half enpty???

Jack say get a smaller galss!!

Speed sucks, ive said before US up and this site goes slow, Aladin says GMT [BRITISH TIME] 5 pm to 7 pm, again this hist with US lunch times. and across the US as we travel vis space [deep eh!!]

But from GMT 00:00 US time home time is at its fastest!!!

We do have loads of eastern US members but this is only part of it teh world wide internet just slows as we all junp on board

Product of sucess!!

JITUK

But when it did load, I took a look at how many people were on. 69. That's a lot.

But another board I'm on has over 67000, yes 67 thousand, registered users and typically runs well over 500 online at any given time with no slowdown.

oooooookay, let me rephrase that.

69 is a lot of people at once for this board. The most I've seen at any one time, at any rate. But the speed debate heads back into the hosting costs, etc., which we have no control over. Just Bill.

Okay everybody, open your hearts and wallets. Let's take up a collection to buy Bill a Cray and a T1 line to host the site with!

Well truck forums are more important Steve.

Oddly enough, I will be reprogramming my truck's computer this weekend to tweak a few more horses, MPGs, beter acceleration, and firmer shifts out of it. And odder still, it will be much easier than writing a VBA macro.

*low whistle*

As I type this, it says there are 37 people on the boards. A reply I posted before this one just came back with this when the page finally came up: "phpBB Created this page in 84.680059 seconds"

I think that's a record.

I felt I was griping a little too much about the speed thing but if you want gripes:

The speed thing here is strange.

When we went to the new board, things were blazing. Then it started getting slow again...

Traffic is definately a factor, but,

The real oddity is the erratic load times. I'll select a post and the little progress indicator will zoom all the way to 99%, and then it just sits there forever. Php is creating the pages in ~0.695502 seconds, but it takes longer than this to display.

Sometimes, I click a post, and I swear, the progress indicate doesn't even move. Then a couple minutes later, there it is.

What really baffles me, is that I acces this site on a T-1 here at work, and it's gotten slow as curse again. But I go home, and access it on my lame 56k modem, and it fast again.

Strange...

LOL, Jack!

Well, I wasn't really intending mine to be a "gripe." I was essentially considering it more "documentation" than anything.
