Best way to create Splash Screen?

I'm creating an app that processes a lot of calculations onOpen. For this reason, I want to present users with a splash screen that indicates there are processes running and to wait. I don't want the user to be able to close this splah screen (or userform). Making it modal doesn't seem to work, my code after the userform.show doesn't execute, even using doevents. Any ideas?

Excel Facts

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
Once the userform is visible it has priority so everything else is put on hold until it is closed. To get around this you can put only the userform.show in the workbook_open event then run all the other code from the userform.activate sub then close the userform when you are done. Another option is to make a certain sheet visible when the code is running this sheet could have your splashscreen info. Or you can use the statusbar.

Hi Charlie,
another solution :
- create an userform without OK buttons
- use labels or other controls to inform th e user
- use MyUserform.show to show the form ( obvious  )
- use Private Sub UserForm_Activate() and place all your code here, ending with Unload MyUserForm
