Hi is it possible I have seven wookbooks stored in numbered week folders each workbook is dated sun01.11.19 to sat07.11.19 . I need to be able to enter the folder name week 45 and each of the seven wookbooks within opened and sheet1 from each be combined into a new wookbook.

So thankful for the help but can i move the goal posts a little .
Can I put the macro in the harlow hours tracker master file then once it is opened the macro pulls the data from the other seven workbooks and inserts itself into this file.
Currently there are sheets sun, mon, tues, to sat .. the data from the other workbooks all have a first sheet called plan. i want the plan sheet to replace the data in the sun to sat sheets of the main file.
hope this is clear.
thankyou

Hello HappyChappy,

Backing up a bit to post #10 , isn't there still an issue with the macro opening the proper folder?

Yes, the macro can be added to the workbook "harlow hours tracker master" but will need some tweaking to run correctly.

Are the other workbooks that are to be opened in the same folder as "
harlow hours tracker master" ?

OK the structure is two folders one called hours tracker and one called debrief both in the same folder structure on a networked drive. i need the macro in the hours tracker file to go back one folder enter the debrief folder then from there ask which folder example "11 November" then ask for the week example "45" once there to collect all seven workbooks which are called "harlow debrief 11.11.2019" then "harlow debrief 12.11.2019 etc etc.
the 11 november would change next month to "12 December" then start again "1 January" "2 February" etc hope this makes sense to you.
the tracker workbook has the first seven sheets named Sun Mon Tue Wed etc these need to have the data from the debrief files sheet "plan" collected and placed within them

we are definitely on the right track but i think i have not explained myself correctly to you. i want open the file called "master picture one" put the macro in that one and run it to call the other files get the first sheet called "plan" from each and paste them into "sunday" "monday" "tuesday" etc. the master file resides in the same directory as the daily debrief night folder. so the search needs to go into the debrief folder ask me for the year folder then the month folder then the week folder so three question regarding the whereabouts of the data files. "debrief\2019\11-november\45" hope this helps to clarify my goal.
