Hi
I have a column like the one below. I highlighted the cells and then dragged the autofill down. I got all cells value as = "red". Why is that? is it because they are color words. Thank you so much.
<colgroup><col width="64" style="width:48pt"> </colgroup><tbody>
red

black

red

white

yellow

brown

green
green

yellow

white

pink

blue

</tbody>
Excel Facts

Select all contiguous cells
Pressing Ctrl+* (asterisk) will select the "current region" - all contiguous cells in all directions.
Thats' because there is no logical sequence to text !!

Thanks for your reply. That is right but when I do auto fill for the following it will get repeated

john
mary
alex
sam
linda
david

so i expected the same thing with colors. And while I am dragging autofill handle of the color list, I see excel repeating the colors but when i release the mouse, all cells filled with "red" word. thank you

Okay, but when you highlight this

red
black
red
white
yellow
brown
green
green
yellow
white
pink
blue

Do you drag from the blue color or from the first red ??
To get the autofill, you need to highlight then drag from the blue
