My two-cents...
If you don't like the question...don't solve it.
If you don't like the solution, don't follow it.
No one's getting paid to do anything on this board, MVP's especially(as far as I know..)
So I think we should be happy with the answers we get. And as Jack in the UK has said many times, you should be able to ask a question however you want.
If it weren't for the MVP's, this board would be seriously weak. Instead of fussing over exactly how our questions are answered, lets celebrate that their exists somewhere, a place where our questions are answered at all...

Spreading the love is payment enough.
You're right about the speed of the board though, but it tends to only be at certain peak times. (like, most of the working day in the USofA :wink: )

You could be looking at about 40 users when it's slow, but this never used to be a problem.

Cortious, warm thanks for you comments as you know im not MVP, this matters so little to me, as if i get worthy comments like you naming thats more than i deserve.
Payments,i have been asked do i get paid for my off ine help and help i give here to Bill Jelen, also so guys have web site i mention, i guarentee i get NOTHING not of money that is. So as im asked why do i bother i will answer
I get more than a few $$ to help, i have wonderful pals, and im the one who gets access to REAL work that dont work correctly and i sometimes fix it, thats worth 6 months study and costs in payment if i solve it!!! I learn a lot.
As i help i test my skills, i used to say and think i knew excel, now i say ive no ideas what so ever, but now i know what i dont know and wahts possible. Moneys no good to me - knowledge and skills along with my friends means so much to me, ive nothing to prove.
I say over and over .. the answeres sometime make me feel sick, we as answeres need to do the best we can and that we all do.
Smut is for fools, help is for them who care, on one knows that much we all strengths, and so that guys posts most answers to that area. lets help each other, thats to MONEY!!! well i thing so.
I get loads of agro, and get no money all i do is free i promise!
OK i admit i rape this site of all the posters skills, that i can neve give back, but if you read many posts your just as guilty, thats why we all help and thats why Bill so kindly made this site....

Could it be the slowdown is partly due to US users for other websites hosted by whomever hosts this one? Possibly the increased traffic here combined with traffic at other sites makes the board slow.
I am just guessing on this. I noticed the board was slow at one point today when 26 people were on, and it was much faster later when 32 or 33 people were on.

I'm probably going to regret this BIGTIME.
Just as a suggestion has anyone thought about a second FAQ more along Excel lines than about the board.
Literally just a scrape of the board in the last year and outline / basic answers to the 20 - 25 issues that Keep creeping up.
Links to ASAP and other utilities, links to online help and maybe other forums.
I can probably string something together if the needs there.
Just my 2p worth.

Would the people who don't bother to use the Search function now be any better at looking in a FAQ section if one was introduced? :wink:
