My update query keeps failing, please see below...Any help will be greatly appreciated...Thanks

UPDATE TSMDistributionTableTemp SET TSMDistributionTableTemp.DistributionType = "*" & [DistributionType]
WHERE (((Right([DisbursementType],1))="*"));

Excel Facts

Pivot Table Drill Down
Double-click any number in a pivot table to create a new report showing all detail rows that make up that number
What do you mean by failing? Is it giving you an error message?

Looks like you are adding a * character to the DistributionType if the last character of the DisbursmentType is a * - is that what you want to do?

Fields with the word 'Type' tend to be linked to other tables using a foreign key - if your relationships are set up then the table will display the text but the underlying value will be the key value... What is the data type of the field 'DistributionType'?
