A timer to check external variable

I would like to use a timer to read external value every 100 millisecond, how can i do that

The reading sub routine to be trigger when timer reach is limit

Any help appreciated

Just to add to the subject of the potential of crashing the application when using a win32 timer is the fact that displaying any menu dialogue will also crash the application. Fortunatly, this can also be handled with a simple error trapper.
