I see your point but I suppose it is personal preference. If you know PEMDAS and are familiar with Excel then at that point I think any extra parentheses adds clutter.
The thing to remember is that (at least in the business world), the person writing it may not always be the person who supports, especially with job turnover.
So just because you may have a good handle on PEMDAS, doesn't mean that the next guy will!
I have been in jobs where programmers leave, and they do not bother replacing them, so the people take ownership of these programs aren't always the most "technical" people (scary, I know! ).
