Conditional Formatting Shared Workbook

I have tried to set up a conditional formatting rule for a shared workbook, but the future is not active. In order to enforce this rule what do I have to do? I was thinking to disable the share feature enforce the rule and then activate the share feature again. Is this the way to go forward? <o></o>
