Hi how come almost everyone have commas in formulas but my version of Excel has semicolons? I tried changing language settings to English but that didn't help.

=SUM(A1;B6;C34) - i must use semicolons, why?

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.
Hi,

It is a regional setting, but not only for Excel. You must change it from the control panel and it also affects other programs.

Basicly the reason for the semicolon is that we must distinguish from the decimal separator that in many contries is comma instead of dot.

Hi

In the latest excel versions you should also be able to change it in excel. In excel 2007 change it in the Editing options (System separators).

I checked the System separator setting in Excel 2007 (which is the version I have) but that didn't help. It's just Decimal separator and Thousands separator that's not what I seek.

I want to change the Union operator.

I think you need to change both. Having list separator and decimal separator the same is not a good idea. And I guess not possible...

I found the setting! It's called "List separator" in Regional Settings. And changed decimal to ".". Thanks guys.

I'm glad it's solved but, as fairwinds said, if you change it in the Regional Settings, it will affect other programs.

If that's not what you want, change in excel the System Separators. Change the Decimal Separator to "." and the Thousands Separator to ",".
