Our time is off on payroll about 6 minutes. It is not our time clock. I checked the formulas and the time value formula comes back as false for the sum of the time clocking in and clocking out. I’m not too familiar with this. Just took this over. Can someone help with this his?

Excel Facts

Back into an answer in Excel
Use Data, What-If Analysis, Goal Seek to find the correct input cell value to reach a desired result
Do you have the formula, the current outcome and your expected outcome? Cell locations for the inputs would be good also.

Here is the time value formula that comes back as being false =IF(AND(K5>=TIMEVALUE("12:00:00"),L5<=TIMEVALUE("12:00:00")),(L5+(1-K5))*24,(L5-K5)*24)

The logical test comes back as this AND(K7>=TIMEVALUE("12:00:00"),L7<=TIMEVALUE("12:00:00")) it says false.

How do I load the actual excel file for the employees hours for you to see?

There is an option to upload in the Advanced reply or when you post, but I believe it doesn't work. Dropbox or a file sharing platform is the best idea to share a link.

May not be needed though.

What are the values in K7 and L7 that return a false?

I did, perhaps i'll rephrase.

What times do you have that are giving you the incorrect result?

The formula is fine, the reason you are getting the FALSE is when the times do not meet the 2 conditions.

=AND(K5>=TIMEVALUE("12:00:00"),L5<=TIMEVALUE("12:00:00"))

So if K5 = 13:00:00 and L5 = 12:00:00 you'd get TRUE.
if K5 = 12:00:00 and L5 = 14:00:00 you'd get FALSE.

Forgive me for me being stupid. I am completely confused about the time thing. The times we have are the ones we clock in and out with. When I click on those times there is not a formula in those cells. Should there be?
