Hey all,

I have been trying to figure this out for quite some time now. I can't find any threads like this, but please excuse me if you do find an existing thread.

I am trying to copy a conditional formatting that turns out of tolerance cells red.

Ex:

This is the formula I am using:

This formula works great for me, but I can't seem to duplicate it to other cells.
If I do, it references the original column's tolerance.

If anyone can think of a formula that can be duplicated, or has an idea about how to duplicate the formula I'm using PLEASE let me know!

It takes forever to format each individual column.

Excel Facts

Difference between two dates
Secret function! Use =DATEDIF(A2,B2,"Y")&" years"&=DATEDIF(A2,B2,"YM")&" months"&=DATEDIF(A2,B2,"MD")&" days"
If you have problem because it always refer to your original column, that the issue is in your "$".

You locked the column as it should always stay at H. If you put the same rule in Z column, you are going to reference to H column again.

From what I understand you might want to lock the row instead of the column H$20 and H$21, or lock nothing H20 and H21.

I cannot see any of those images.
Can you just please your Conditional Formatting formula, and explain what range it is currently in, and what range you are trying to apply it to?

This was the issue. I thought I had unlocked the column, but I unlocked the row instead! :(

format painter now works between columns. (So far.)

Sorry for the dumb question, but I'm glad it was an easy fix.

Thanks everyone!

It doesn't exist any dumb question.

Many times even the best programmer in the world need someone else to read his code to find the problem.

I'm glad to see that your problem was not that complicated.
