Excel 2024: Unhide One Specific Column Without Unhiding Others
February 24, 2025 - by Bill Jelen

You are presenting on a Zoom call. You've hidden columns in your spreadsheet that contain Salary, Manager, and Bonus. You need to unhide the Manager data in E but not unhide the Salary in D or the Bonus in F. Normally, you would select from column D to column G and unhide. But that would reveal the Salary and Bonus information on the call.

Press the F5 key or Ctrl+G to display the Go To dialog box. Specify that you want to Go To cell E2 and click OK. This will select just the hidden E2. You can confirm this by looking in the Name Box to see that you have E2 selected. You can also see the heading of Manager in the Formula Bar.

When you unhide the column (perhaps using Alt+O+C+U or Alt+H+O+U+L or Ctrl+Shift+) the result will be that you've left column D and F hidden while unhiding column E.
