Problem: I want to compare two populations of data.

Strategy: Use the left-to-right setting for a data bar. In the figure below, the data bars on the left use the right-to-left setting.

Using two data bars for a paired bar chart. Ice cream flavors are in column B. The Adults have blue data bars on the right that go left to right. Adults like Vanilla, Chocolate, and Butter Pecan. Kids have red data bars in column A and these bars go right to left. Kids like flavors like Cotton Candy, Superman, and Blue Moon.

The right-to-left setting is in the Bar Direction dropdown

When editing the data bar settings, you can choose Right-to-Left.
