Can you AutoFilter a pivot table? If you could turn on the AutoFilters and then filter to the top 6 items in column B, you would get the top five customers plus the real total.

Many times my customer reports have hundreds of customers. If I’m preparing a report for the senior vice president of sales, he may not care about the 400 customers who bought spare batteries this month. He wants to see only the top 10 or 20 or 5 customers each month.

My data set has a date on which each item was shipped. When I produce a pivot table with the date field, it provides sales by day. My plant manager loves sales by day, but everyone else in the company would rather see sales by month.

I just upgraded to Excel 2016. When I add dates to a pivot table, it sometimes automatically groups to months or months quarters and years. Other times, it does not.
