YouTube Channel AAHHH!!!!

I'm sure I'm not the only one on this forum that experiences the same problem but is anyone as frustrated with YouTube as I am? Firstly I've got my own video channel. Google insists that they automatically create users a Google + account and even more annoyingly use your full name as the video channel name. I've changed the URL name however my full name still appears. The only way I can change this is by splitting my video channel name into 2.

First Name: MyWork Surname: sheetuk
Displayed username: MyWork Sheetuk

I just wanted to hear some of your opinions on how I could possibly change this.
