We received an Excel spreadsheet that is actually an XML document. Excel can open it a-ok however we need to consume it using:

dbc:Driver={Microsoft Excel Driver (*.xls)};DBQ=" and when the program accesses this XML document it fails. Modifying the program is not a great option. However, if I manually open the file in Excel and explicitly do a Save As Excel workbook (.xls) all evidence of XML is removed and the program successfully opens and processes it. So, the $100 question is: WHat it the simplest way to automate the Open/Save As?
