xlsm file suddenly opening with Macro running - can't get 'Enable Macros' security dialog back.

I have a file I've used for a long time in Excel2007, that I've now just started using in Excel2013. The first couple of times I opened it in Excel2013, it opened without the macro running and the Security Warning requiring me to Enable Macros appeared (as it should). No problems.

Suddenly, the third time I've opened it in Excel2013, it's now opening with no macro Security Warning and the macro already running.

Instead of the macro Security Warning, a different dialog box appears saying 'This workbook contains links to one of more external sources that could be unsafe. If you trust the links, update them to get the latest data. Otherwise, you can keep working with the data you have". Options are 'Update' or 'Don't Update'. That dialog box didn't run when the file was opening with the Enable Macros dialog (like I want it to).

Regardless of what I choose for the Update Links dialog, the macro is always running when the file opens.

Macro Security is set to 'Disable all macros with notification', as it has always been.

I find there is a data Link to another spreadsheet that isn't needed. However, when I apply 'Break Link' to it, it never deletes and the same Update Links dialog comes back the next time I open the workbook.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Excel Facts

Round to nearest half hour?
Use =MROUND(A2,"0:30") to round to nearest half hour. Use =CEILING(A2,"0:30") to round to next half hour.
Excel 2013 has a different way of handling enable macros. Basically, it stores your decision to trust the macros and next time, it will enable macros by default.
You can prevent the macros from running by holding down the shift key:

Excel: Preventing auto_open and Workbook_Open events from running

You may also want to download my trustedworkbook manager, which enables you to remove files from your list of trusted files so that next time you get the macro warning on that file again:
