Hello

Is it possible to use Xlookup to return the month the selected data falls under. Many thanks

e.g Dat 4= Feb

Jan
FebMarch
data 1Data 3Data 5
Data 2Data 4Data 6

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
How about
Fluff.xlsm
ABCDEF
1JanFebMarch
2data 1Data 3Data 5Data 4Feb
3Data 2Data 4Data 6
4
Sheet6
Cell Formulas
RangeFormula

In future please do not put your reply inside a quote, as it looks as though you are just quoting somebody else.

Is there a simpler formula?
Not that I can think of.

You can try:
Excel Formula:
=TOCOL(IFS(A2:C3=E2,A1:C1),2)
