XL2bb and security issues

I all, I ended up putting the xl2bb.xlam in the \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART folder to get it to load properly. On my private computer it's working fine, but on my work laptop I get a "Microsoft has blocked macros from running because the source of the file is untrusted" message. I can digitally sign macros that I do, but I don't know how to make the .xlam file trusted...

Thanks for your reply... I made the folder Trusted but am still getting the message. Anyway, if I just click the X to close the window, code is running OK... It's just annoying...

Have you unblocked the file as well as per the article (although I've never known anyone need to do both)?

...actually it's already unblocked. My company's policy is that files that are not digitally signed should not run. I'm curious if it's possible to digitally sign the xl2bb file. I tried opening it (it opened to an empty file - meaning there was no content. I tried to add a digital signature and the dialog appears, but there is no option to save, and the error comes up every time...

My company's policy is that files that are not digitally signed should not run.

If unblocking the xlam file, and even placing it in a trusted folder (XLSTART is the most trusted folder by the way), then the company policy should be really strict about it, but it is also interesting (and actually good in this case) that you can by-pass the error and open the file.

XL2BB is not a digitally signed add-in. Digitally signing the project with a self-signed certificate will cause an additional unnecessary warning for everybody who will download the add-in even the self-signed certificate might be accepted by your company (which I certainly don't think so). So, I'm afraid also not much help from the developer for this one.
