XL 2008 Validate a Range?

I have several columns of data, formerly in a LIST. (I can't use the list format because it screws up my formulas).

I have an input range named .... 'input'... that I would like to format through Validation. I don't see an ability to format a range... or am i missing something?

Can you not just highlight the range then set the validation rules?

OOPS, I neglected to mention that it is a DYNAMIC range.
