Hi,

I have a line chart that shows dates (formatted as "1/1/2021" etc.) along the horizontal axis. Recently the chart has "shrunk" the axis labels so that all that is showing is in the format "1....." for each of the dates.

I have tried playing in the Format Axis controls to see if I can expand the box that holds the X-axis, but nothing seems to work. I also tried to see if I could drag handles that surround the X-axis, but that does not work.

I also tried deleting the selection and re-selecting, also with no luck.

Anyone have any suggestions for how I can make the full date visible again?

Do you hate GETPIVOTDATA?
Prevent GETPIVOTDATA. Select inside a PivotTable. In the Analyze tab of the ribbon, open the dropown next to Options and turn it off
Found the solution to my problem. Instead of trying to change the shape of the box surrounding the X-axis I needed to change the size of the box surrounding the graph above the X-axis box. When I shrank the "graph box" down by dragging the bottom right handle upwards, then the size of the box for the X-axis automatically grew.

Hope this helps someone else!
