x-axis label interval alignment

I have 30-day data running from (eg) 16/04/2013 to 15/05/2013 to display on a graph. Since having intervals of 1 day on the x-axis overcrowds the labels I want intervals between them. However, I want the latest date (15/05/2013) to display on the right and the intervals to work backwards to the left, rather than the default of starting with the first date (16/04/2013) on the left and working to the right. This is because the latest date won't display with this default view.</SPAN>

I can't seem to find any relevant options on the format axis function. Is the only option to include one day more than you need (as that seems to work)?

Thanks</SPAN>
