Writing data back to a table from a Subform

Hi all,


I need some help on writing data from my subform back to my table

My subform is is based on based on the table im using

In my subform i have a field which contains a Dlookup command ....but i need the resulting data from this Dlookup command writing back to my table is this possible


Can anyone help please

Excel Facts

Wildcard in VLOOKUP
Use =VLOOKUP("Apple*" to find apple, Apple, or applesauce
If the data comes from a DLookup() then you must have all the data you need already in the database!

I do but not on the form I want ...How do I perform the dlookup in the table ... I can only do it on the form

I'm not sure what you mean. You DLookup a table using whatever criteria gets you the data you are looking up. Any time you need it again, you look it up again. The only time you'd need to store this data is if the actual data you are looking up changes so that future lookups using the same criteria would return different results.

Edit:
Note that if you mean you want to open the table and see looked-up values, that's something to avoid. Create a form in datasheet view using whatever lookup you are interested in. You can create forms that look exactly like tables if you need to.
