Workbooks.Count problem

I use Workbooks.Count to enable to Set a name to a new download. When the download is a .csv file there used to be no problem.

However, in the last week (I have Excel 365, so it may have changed) a newly downloaded file of the generic ".csv" type does not get included in the Workbooks.Count. But, if it is type MSDOs typr ".csv" it does.

I cannot control the .csv type; and it would be very difficult to identify the downloaded file by its name (there are major inconsistancies in how the sender formats the name).

Can anyone suggest work arounds, please?

How to create a cell-sized chart?
Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.
Just a thought... Have you considered sinking the application events and listening to the _WorkbookOpen or _NewWorkbook application level events ?

Jaaafar,

Thanks for that. No I had not considered those, so your answer was helpful; though actually I cannot see how they helped.

However I have solved my problem by reverting to Office 16.

Cheers Richard
