You have helped me so much in the past that I am back for your expertise once again. I am working on creating a staff coverage calendar. We have 2 shifts(12 hours each) that work a rotating schedule in multiple departments. When someone wants to take vacation time, their supervisor will enter their requests using a userform which adds the necessary data into a row on a "Data" sheet. The front page of this project will be in calendar format and should show which departments need coverage each day. I would like the "coverage needs" icons/shapes to be clickable so that any worker can click on the item and it would show more detailed information which was entered on the Data sheet(maybe similar to a link). I am not sure what the best way to accomplish this would be or exactly how to get it to put the icon/shape/box in the correct date square. This clickable item would also give the employee the option to sign up to cover that position which would "strikeout" the text on the icon/shape to show that the position has been covered. I have the userform working to enter the employee's requests into the Data sheet however I am struggling with having it then add some time of clickable event/shape onto the Calendar sheet.

I have attached pictures of what I have so far. Can anyone help me out with ideas on how to get this to work or ideas on how to make it better? I can provide the code I have written so far if need be. Thanks for checking out my project.

Excel Facts

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.
It may be helpful to share your data via xl2bb mini worksheets, or a dropbox or onedrive file share.
Sending pictures while helpful in giving a visual means the forum must completely recreate your scenario which takes time and can have errors.

Example of expected outcome would also be of assistance. Any formulas you have would also be nice to have.

Thanks in advance, please help the forum help you.
