Hi guys,

I've embedded an excel object linked to a spreadsheet with color coded text (diff font colors) into a word document and having an issue.

The font colors appear appear perfectly fine in the word document when i view it but are automaticaly converted to black when i save the document as a pdf file

(Word 2007 - save as / publish as PDF)

I am using Office 2007. Any idea how i can resolve this?
It seems like the colors are being misread in the doc to pdf conversion process...

thanks for the help

Hi jimbb,

This is a long-standing issue with embedded OLE objects. You might get better results if you change the link format to one of the image options.

good thinking. it only seems to work with the bmp link.

unfortunatley there seems to be a grey outline around one side of the linked bmp. i tried editing borders and shiftings cells around and removing margins in excel and making thesheet white but didnt help, seems odd its on only 1 side. silly question maybe but any idea how to get rid of it

thanks

Hi jimbb,

You might try putting the linked object into a borderless textbox or a single-celled table. With a little judicious resizing and adjustments to the paragraph alignment, you should be able to hide the unwanted border.

I'm travelling these days, with only sporadic internet access - hence the delayed reply.
