with the new updates, is there still a 'view unanswered threads' option somewhere?

that was a custom option. If feasible, it will be re-implemented
 
You can sort by number of replies...just click "Replies" in the Replies / Views header. If it sorts "most" first, just click it again, and those threads with no replies will be listed first. Not quite the same as the unanswered threads link, but pretty close.
 
you can also use the search and change replies to at most and leave blank
 
Take a look at the new link "Zero Reply Posts" to the right of the "Forum" button. :)
 
Just noticed zero reply posts now too. But the Test Here forum seems to be included (don't think that was the case before).
