Windows Vista Account Problem

So this weekend, while we slept, we had a power failure. Our computer had been on, in standby mode, with My wife's account logged in. When she turne dthe cmputer back on in teh morning, and logged back in, it gave her a Welcome screen, treating her like a NEW account. Her background, and all of her files and settings were GONE. I poked around, and discovered that the fies for her account were still located at C:\Users\Kelley, but her "Kelley" account was now working off of C:\Users\TEMP.

The Kelley folder seems to be orphaned. While windows does not alow me to rename a user folder from my admin account, it DOES allow me to rename Kelley. Ultimatley, I'd like to re-connect or re-driect the account settings to the contents of the Kelley folder, but I can't see where that setting might be changed. I tried creating a new account for her, then from my admin account, deleting the contents of the new user folder, and copying the contents of teh Kelley folder into it... however, the files that actually contains the windows settings (like for desktop and sidebar) are not carried over. Plus I still had to manually make Outlook sign into her Comcast Account, and I still had to rename the .pst file to get all of her messages and folders back.

Not sure of a better way to fix this, nor a way to prevent it in the future... HELP!

Excel Facts

How to total the visible cells?
From the first blank cell below a filtered data set, press Alt+=. Instead of SUM, you will get SUBTOTAL(9,)
Obviously, I would windup Windows Vista on a CD, put it in the case and wait for a couple of service packs to be released by MS in the near future and hop onto Windows XP which is the best bet for everything in terms of software and applications. Besides, I would prefer to let go this much hassle and depending on the nature of urgency for a new OS, I would wait for a few months more and get Windows 7 instead :-)

Do you have a recent System Restore point you can revert back to? I know a lot of people turn that service off, but it's saved me on several occasions.
