Hi All,

I'd be grateful if you could have a look at the scenario below and contribute any suggestions please:

Scenario

  • We have 5,000 widgets available to order
  • We make widgets to order and can produce 50 a day
  • It's important we can tell customers their expected wait time for their widget when we log their order

What I need

  • I need to build an excel simulator which will show us our demand vs production and our production queue length/backlogs
  • All 5,000 widgets could be ordered in 1 day, so the spreadsheet would need to be able to tell us how long each customer will wait for their widget (so it will need to accommodate production backlogs as we can only churn out 50 a day and work out that'll take us x days to clear the backlog and make their widget)

Thanks in advance - let me know if there are any questions.

Best regards,
/P
