Microsoft Excel started showing an outline around the formula bar, when you are editing a formula in the formula bar.
Why is there a thick dark box around the formula bar in Excel?
Or, have you never noticed it?
It is part of the F6 Loop.

Transcript of the video:
This brand new feature is annoying half of all Excellers.  It all depends on how you edit a formula.
I edit it by pressing F2 and editing right  in the cell.
But apparently a lot of people still click  up here in the Formula Bar.
Now we got those big freaking dark box around  the whole thing.
How do you make it go away?  You can't make it go away.
What's going on?  It's something called the F6 Loop.
It's an accessibility feature that jumps around  the screen when you press F6.
First, press the F6 and down here, the Sheet  Tabs.
Next press - The Name Box.  Next press: Task Pane.
Next press: the Status Bar.  Next press: the Ribbon tabs.
No one knows about the F6 loop.  Adding these boxes will help people realize which part is the active part.  But the F6 Loop should never include the formula bar.  Why did they add the box there?
