Why 2016 version not allowing me to do it?

Mango=A1
I tried to do some modification in A1,but it wont allow me to select all
I used Ctrl+A,its not working to select the cell data
i am keep doing dragging for selecting the whole text.

Any solution for this?

i have 2016 ,it does allow ctlA, cell mods, etc.

You must be in a 'mode', that prevents it.
ex: you cannot use Ctl-A if you are editing a cell,because you are in edit mode.
same with other functions, if a pending edit , or function is not completed , other functions are disabled.

if you use 2013 version yu will know it will alow to select the whole text by using CTRL+A

y it is not allowing in 2016?
