Four people travelled to a place. their total expenses was Rs.2850. Divided equally would be Rs.712.50
A is charged 712.50 but paid Rs.1940
B is charged 712.50 but paid NIL
C is charged 712.50 but paid 820
D is charged 712.50 but paid 90.
Now A has to receive 1227.50 and C has to receive 107.50.
Logically, B should pay A 712.50 and D should pay A 515.00 and D should pay C 107.50
Now how do we put the formula in an excel sheet so that it will display automatically who has to pay whom and how much one has to pay the other.
The formula should be put in such a way that even if the expenses borne by any of the people is different, automatically, the amount against the beneficiary should be displayed correctly.
The answer should be somewhat like this:
B should pay A 712.50
D should pay A 515.00
D should pay C 107.50
would highly appreciate if somebody can give the formula in excel format.
thanks a lot.
