White space in Access report

In a report that has "hide duplicates" selected for many of the fields - it does hide the duplicates, but creates large areas of white space with the hidden records. The report looks very awkward. Any help on solving this problem would be appreciated.

Who is Mr Spreadsheet?
Author John Walkenbach was Mr Spreadsheet until his retirement in June 2019.
You can set fields to shrink when they are empty. The whore row will need to be empty, so if you have lables on the same row then you will need code to set their visibility to False. Also fields that overlap are inhibited from shrinking.
