What language are Excel formulas written in?

Hi there,

What language are Excel formulas/functions written in? I refer to the formula bar, rather than the VBA.
I guess this language must have some sort of a name.

Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.
The actual code behind Excel functions is written in one of the C languages, I believe. The language of Excel formulas themselves (OFFSET, COUNT etc) does not have its own name really.

Thanks. That's a bit strange, isn't it? If you create a whole "programming" language (from the view that Excel can be considered declarative programming) you would like to give it a name. So how one could/should refer to it (in officially correspondence)?
