What is the meaning of the golden five stars in the forum messages list?

It means that a given number of members have rated the thread as "Excellent".
 
It's the average ranks of the thread given by members. People seldom rate threads, and when they do, it's usually because they think it's wonderful, and they give it five stars, so that's usually the one and only rank. Maybe some of Colin's just have one or two stars, because, well ... you know.
 
I only ever get a lone star. Maybe I should move to Texas? :)
 
We only have one star because we haven't annexed any other states yet, Colin. Or countries; maybe Belgium ....
