What is the difference between if else and case statement.

Technically, there is no difference. I would say its just two different ways of formatting your code.

Your code starts to get messy with multiple IF statements, and may be confusing when reading it back.

Example:

If text = "Apple" Then
    'code
Else If text = "Grape" Then
    'code
Else If text = "Banana" Then
    'code
Else If text = "Orange" Then
    'code
End If
 
---Compared too---
 
Select Case text
    Case "Apple"
         'code
    Case "Grape"
         'code
    Case "Banana"
         'code
    Case "Orange"
         'code
End Case
