Freeze Panes allows you to freeze a portion of cells while you scroll.
1. You can freeze the top row or the left column without doing the following:
____a. Select the Row you would like to freeze the rows above
____b. Select the Column you would like to freeze the columns to the left
2. On the ribbon, go to the "View" tab
3. Under the "Window" group, you will see the menu for "Freeze Panes"
4. Select:
____a. "Freeze Panes", to freeze above and left of your selection
____b. "Freeze Top Row" to freeze the top visible row
____c. "Freeze First Column" to freeze the left visible column
To Unfreeze, return to the same menu and select "Unfreeze Panes"
Notes:
The panes freeze with visible rows and columns. If you scroll down or right, you will be cutting off rows or columns. This is helpful if you need it for this, but if you lose rows or columns, check that they are not just frozen (or hidden).
