Hi all,

I am a Biological Researcher pursuing my PhD in Bioinformatics. I have used Excel for so many things, I love it so much. A BIG BIG thanks to all the people involved in developing such a wonderful software and also to people like you who are making it much more useful to people in many different ways. The more I delve excel the more things it seem to perform. I wan't to go further and become Excel experts like you guys.

Please guide me on this, give me your opinions. Also suggest me few best books to get all that knowledge and practical exposure to become an Excel Guy.

Thanks in advance,

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
Welcome to the Board!

This is the best place around for asking questions.

As to books, Bill Jelen (aka Mr. Excel) has several books ranging from beginner to expert, as does John Walkenbach (www.j-walk.com).

A Google/Bing search for "Free Excel Tutorial" will turn up plenty.

As for specifics in your area of study, I'd probably rely on web searches.

If you need ideas for spreadsheet structure the Microsoft Template Gallery is a great place to start.

Hope that helps,
