I might be over thinking this but all of my thoughts have failed. I have created a time sheet (Schedule) that auto calculates the number of hours scheduled each day. I am trying to make the cell at the end show the weekly running total.

Here is my layout:

C&D1 merged = Date
C&D2 merged = Day of the week
C3 = Start Time (entered in hours:minutes)
D3 = Stop Time (entered in hours:minutes)
C&D4 merged = Beak (lunch) duration (in hours:minutes)
C&D5 merged = Total Hours:Minutes for that day
C5 formula used = (=TEXT(D3-C3-C4,"hh:mm")

So C5 through O5 = days of the week. I can't seem to figure out how to make Q5 total the Hours and Minutes for the week properly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Excel Facts

Convert text numbers to real numbers
Select a column containing text numbers. Press Alt+D E F to quickly convert text to numbers. Faster than "Convert to Number"
Time is super weird in Excel.
Try this for C5:

=(D3-C3-C4)*24

(and make sure your cell number format in C5 is "general")

Now it will be total hours worked--with decimal for fractions of hours e.g. 8 hrs and 15 minutes will be "8.25"

And it should add correctly.
