I'm using Excel 2003 and 2010 and trying to import the main table from the following link:
The targeted table is labeled atop "New 52-Week Highs:"

When I use the "New Web Query" menu function and insert the link, the first unusual experience is that the table selection icons (at top left of each table on the page) do not appear at first. I must first select "Hide Icons" and deselect it before the icons appear.

After selecting the correct icon, the status bar indicates data is being downloaded onto the spreadsheet, then stops and nothing appears.

I've imported the table into Google Sheets without a hitch.

Does anyone have a potential solution for this?

PS: someone else on this forum had a similar problem and resolved it with VBA, which I'm trying to avoid using since I use multiple machines. The referenced question can be found here: http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/excel-questions/560792-web-query-select-table-not-being-captured.html

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
