Web Query / Can't get to tables

I'm trying to load some tables into an Excel workbook every morning. Here's one the URLs

https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.a...8&ind=0&team=0&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0

I have Excel for Mac. My understanding is that I can't do a regular web query but I can get around that by creating a txt file in Word. Problem is, I can't even attempt that because I only bought Excel.
I also have a laptop with regular Excel on it. I'm not able to extract tables from anywhere on that site using Excel 2016 on that laptop. I also tried to grab some stats off of MLB.com but no luck there either. It's a barrage of script errors followed by either no tables to even attempt to import, or sometimes a table or two that don't contain any of the pertinent numbers I'm after.

What am I missing here?
Thanks everyone -
Peter
