I posted a question about 12 hours ago. It has been viewed 15 times but I have not received any replies. I see that the "watched" icon appears next to my thread. What does that mean?

Also, how soon before it is acceptable to re-post a question? by now my question is far down the list of threads.

The "watched" icon means you're watching it. This happens to a thread you start or when you reply to one.

You can "bump" your thread by replying to it once a day, but to do so means it won't appear in the Unanswered threads anymore.

And just to clarify - you should never re-post the question! Bumping is the way to go.

And don't worry if it slides down the list. Many of us use the "Unanswered Threads" listing to look for unanswered questions, and usually look at the first few pages.
