Watch topic problem

The links I've received in my email to either a topic I've participated in, or one I am watching have been incorrect. For example:
http://www.mrexcel.com/board2/viewtopic.php?p=1068705#1068705
Loads a page that says "The topic or post you requested does not exist" However if I take the number at the end of the unwatch URL, and put it on the end of the above URL, changing the p to a t, it works fine. http://www.mrexcel.com/board2/viewtopic.php?t=221966
Here is the complete email message:

It is possible for someone to post a reply then delete it - which is usually the case when you get that error.

Last night, we had an extreme case of spam - which was all deleted.
